A Mixture of Photographs and 2D-Elements, created with Photoshop 6 and Canon EOS 300D.
Original at 3461x5648 pixels.
I used these Photos (all took by myself, the first two are a self portrait, the fire-images were taken during a nighty bonfire made of old school papers after the final exam):
Some work-in-progress-pics; until I added Flames, it was a pure PS-work based on the body photographs.

Unleash your mind

Hello everybody,

I want to present you my most recent work - this time it's an artwork.
The message of this picture is the following:

We just live without thinking, in a very regulaur way, we don't give our considerations space, we try to assimilate to society's norms.
We limit ourselves and our thoughts,
to be somebody's liking and we contemplate conformity.
We don't recognize what we are missing due to that behavior, how we are nipping our unfolding and possibilities in the bud.
Just as we are conscious about that, we get the ability
to break the cage we built around our head
and to unleash our mind.

I did this picture with my mouse and Photoshop 6, the original size is 2774x6150 pixels.
At first, it was just an experiment because I wanted to try to do some abstract work, but soon it became a complete artwork.

The picture shows my head and parts of my naked torso - the stock photo was taken by my little brother with my EOS 300D.
stock

I used another stock photo for the wing structure, this time from a german stock photo community (the original shows a bronze statue):
http://www.aboutpixel.de/index.php4?toppag...&image_id=28149

It's your turn, people

Stadt am Abgrund -City at the abyss

As an overview, we make a city. But not a common one which is built on a flat area or a hill - no, this one is built on the side of a dam.

It's a 500m-high retaining wall and the city is some sort of "hanging" on the wall.
We announce the year 2112, a time where peace is everywhere and just little guerilla gangs are disturbing the calmness. They are mostly going by every type of copters, mostly helicopters. The style is a bit Sci-Fi, some sort of a dirty utopia. Something similar to the look we are heading towards, would be the film "Waterworld", "Postman" or "Matrix".
The picture shows the city from something like 200m under the top of the dam, from the left lower corner. It is early morning, everything's blue, orange and a bit bright-pink.
The buildings are connected with bridges, ladders and elevators.

[b]for futher images and WIPs, click here.

Spoomy modelled the cableway and some platforms and buildings, additionally, he textured them.
Luka modelled turbines and fans, those two big bent buildings at the top of the wall and all the other little buildings and platforms for the city.
My part was the dam itself, the top of the dam, the water wheel, materials, little assecoirs, lighting, rendering and postwork.

The time to render was 1:41 h, the scene has 505.000 polygons.
We modelled with Cinema 4D and Maya, rendering and materials were done just in Cinema.
I made the postwork with Photoshop 6. The waterfall is a mattepainting for the foreground and was done with PS 6 too (based on photos).

Hi people,

actually, I modelled the plane for my scene "Anticôs - Sunken City", but I wanted to create a seperate scene for it. It's a recreation of a really old plane, the "Ryan Flamingo". Jimmy angel, who discovered Salto del Angel, used this aircraft.

I modelled it within about one sunday and an afternoon. I used two self-made textures, one for scratches, the other one for "Rio Caroni", as this Ryan was called by Jimmy Angel. The other material components are C4D-intern shaders.

No GI, but areashadows, some lights and AO. The background is a manipulated photo.

Postwork and parts of the compositing with photoshop, the original background photo ist this one: click me

Anticôs - Sunken City

Hi earthlings,

this is my entrance for a learning competition on GA, the topic was "extraterrestric remains"

You can see the sunken city Anticôs, which was built by an alien race's pioneers a long time ago in the jungle of Venezuela...

Maybe you know Jimmy Angel's Story; he was the man who discovered Salto del Angel, the highest waterfall in the world (about 1km high!).
I tried to rebuild his plane, a Ryan Flamingo - as far as I know, there's just one left; I used photos of it to model the old plane.
This pic is some sort of a hommage to him, to his sensational discovery.

The picture shows the moment of Anticôs' discovery by Jimmy Angel.

The photo which I used to compose was taken by Volker Umpfenbach, here you can find his homepage.
Thanks, Volker!
The photo was a bit blurred, so I had to blur the city and plane; due to this the compositing is not so sharp.
So it is a COMPOSITING, made with C4D 9.5 XL and Photoshop 6.

I set the plane into another scene, again a compositing:

My concept for the buildings' modeling was to create some sort of plant-shaped towers, to create a unique "alien" style.

If you are more interested in the single buildings, please follow this link to see the whole WIP-thread (it's german, but the pics are not )

Clay Render of Ryan Flamingo and Anticôs:

Every Critique is welcome...

Greetings from Vienna,

Divian Bed

Hi people,
this is my first post here, so I hope I did everything right
I created this picture with Cinema 4D R. 9.5 XL, used GI and area Shadows for the lighting. After rendering, I postworked it in Photoshop and corrected the artifacts, added some glow (some glow on the whole pic, some on specific points), some contrast correction.
I modelled the divian bed mostly with splines.
The tree is an experiment with a tool I created/coded, named OBAN. You can find the thread here:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?p=3042547
For the contruction of the room, I tried to use some stable forms (half circles and lines). Hope you like it!
